Do You Objectify Your Own Body?

We have objectified our own bodies.  We rarely view our body as a worthy and lovable entity.  It’s just this thing, a burden that’s never good enough.  Butt: too big, flat, or cheesy or boobs: too small, big or saggy.  And general complaints: too short; too tall; ugly feet; gross arms; thinning hair; too many wrinkles… AHHHHH!!!  I literally feel anxious typing that list.  And of course, anxiety is indeed what people are consumed with.  Why do you think you eat emotionally?  To cover feelings of inferiority, insecurity, unworthiness, and undeservingness.  As you judge and condemn your beautiful vessel, also you bring about added weight, stress, depression, frustration, anxiety, fear and anger.  Which is then spilled out onto those we love…

Instead of judging your perfect body (no matter its size, shape or color) give it a frickin’ rest!  Never before in any society have people been so disconnected from their body and therefore their spirit.  Try on appreciation for a change.  Consider how much worse it could be?

It’s only in reconnecting to your body, trusting it, loving and nurturing it that you can ease into a weight you want and remain there long term.  Disowning your body, or any part of it, will never lead to any kind of fulfilling or peaceful life.  If you’d like to be an inanimate plastic figure, you’re free to tote yourself to the taxidermist!  But for you passionate, vibrant, loving, free spirited, gorgeous people of all shapes, sizes and colors….  connect intimately with every part, nook and cranny of your perfection!  It’s a gift of untold fortunes.
