Jim is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Certified CrossFit Movement and Mobility Trainer, and Certified CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer. He was a private fitness coach in St. Petersburg Russia for 1 year prior to opening a CF box. He hopes to someday attain an advanced degree in Physical Therapy or Athletic Training.

He was a competitive baseball and hockey player growing up, eventually founding and becoming the first head coach of the Bard College Baseball Team. He still competes as an Ice Hockey goalie.
Jim took on a huge interest in fitness, nutrition, and then CrossFit while at Bard College in NY, and while finishing his degree in Russian Studies/working with baseball at the school, Jim opened his first gym, Railroad Crossfit at Hudson Barbell in Hudson, NY.
In order to get into the cutting edge of the CrossFit world, and to get back to Atlanta, a city that his family loved, and that provided great opportunities for his wife and 3 children, Jim explored a move in late 2011, culminating in his invovement with CrossFit On the Move in early 2012.
Jim is nuts about mobility and nutrition, and tries to infuse a culture of organization and technique first, combined with dynamic but periodized programming in order to turn normal folks into fit folks, athletes into elite athletes, but most of all to create function and wellness/fitness in the place of sickness and dysfunction.
Jim is a Language/Literature/History and Theology buff, an Anatomy nerd, a sports junkie, a Husband and Father of 3.
